FRACTIONAL DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Hi, I'm Jen, a fractional development director.

I handle my clients' complete development function — donors, partners, and grants — for less than the cost of a full-time hire.

About me

I absolutely love helping mission-driven companies make a difference in the world.

For decades I had a successful sales career at major companies like Glamour Magazine, The New York Times and The Huffington Post.

Eventually, I got tired of making rich people richer — with no positive purpose — so I pivoted.  Now I LOVE what I do: helping nonprofits find the grants, donors and partners they need to be successful.

I leverage the same skills I used in sales — pipeline development, pitch creation, relationship building, and closing deals — for clients whose missions I actually admire.

What I do

Senior-level development support, built around only what my clients need.

I manage my clients' entire development function or focus only on what they need.  Every engagement is customized based on their needs.

01

Major Donor Strategy

I find the donors my clients are overlooking (they may already be in their CRM), segment them, prioritize them, and build a strategy to bring them back.

02

Corporate Partnerships

I create corporate pipelines based on genuine fit and aligned missions, then help my clients pursue them.

03

Grants & Institutional Funding

I uncover the grant opportunities my clients are missing and submit stronger applications to increase their win rate.

04

Development Strategy & Infrastructure

When a client's real opportunity is an overall stronger operation underneath the fundraising, I build it.

My Process

My proven systems and processes are central to my success.

When I started doing fractional work, I was disciplined in documenting exactly what was working and what wasn't. I used those insights to develop a set of tools, frameworks and processes I could use consistently to maximize quality, consistency, and results for every client.

How I use AI

AI proficiency is my other competitive edge.

I expertly leverage it for speed, depth, efficiency, and volume behind the scenes. With donors, I bring only my most authentic, human self.

AI HANDLES

  • Research
  • Prospect scoring
  • Grant tracking
  • CRM analysis

AI NEVER TOUCHES

  • Donor conversations
  • Outreach emails
  • Appeals or thank-yous
  • Anything a donor reads or hears

Services

There are two ways to work with me.

My clients get senior-level development director work — without the salary and benefits of an internal hire. Some need full fractional coverage; others need focused project support. Either way, my services typically cost at least 25% less than an internal hire.

01

Your Fractional Development Director

The main way I work. I run my clients' entire development function — CRM audit, major donors, corporate partners, grants, and the strategy and infrastructure behind them — month to month. They get a senior fundraiser without the salary, benefits, or search process of a full-time hire.

Cost: Starting at $2,500/month

02

Focused Project

For clients who don't need a full development director, I come in for a set number of hours per month or a specific need like grant research and submissions, a CRM and donor-data audit, or a corporate prospect pipeline. We define the deliverable, timeline, and outcome together, and price it as a flat project fee or an hourly rate.

Cost: Starting at $1,500

A good fit

Built for nonprofits with real fundraising potential and not enough senior capacity to chase it.

My clients often posted a job listing for a development director or manager and realized the budget was tight. Maybe their ED is fundraising on top of everything else. Or they lost a Development Director and aren't ready to replace them.  Whatever the case, I'm ready to step in.

Let's build your development pipeline.
